Exiles

Over the last four years, we’ve discovered something horrifically wrong with us.  Yes, us as in the American Church.  WE are obsessed with winning.  We want to win the cultural battles, social media battles, and political battles – at any cost.

It looks very little like Jesus. Jesus changed the world without winning any of these things. He never won a military battle or an election.  In fact, He lived a life marked by loss. He served, and He surrendered, and He sacrificed for His enemies.  

And for those of us who call Jesus ‘King,’ He called us exiles in this world. He taught us that there is so much more at stake in this life than winning.
